OH MY GOD.
I just saw Night at the Museum 2, and I fell in love with a new slash couple:
Jed/Octavius.
They are sooooo cute together~! ^/////^
And the best thing is, it's pretty much completely canon!

Now I feel like drawing some fanart, but I'm going to need some serious references (their outfits are annoying... )

You know, the only problem with that pairing is that no one can figure out who's the uke and who's the seme.
I mean, there's Jed, who wouldn't let Octy drive the car in the first movie, and has a growing need to be dominant over people. But he also has some emotional insecurities.
At the same time, Octavius is the Roman general, and the real Octavius did end up being the emperor Augustus Caesar... but Octavius is a bit of a pushover, and he obeys Larry.

So really, it could go either way. xD

But lo and behold, I have proof.

In an interview with Steve Coogan, the guy who played Octavius, he said:
"There was a certain kind of subtext, what those of a discerning view might read as a subtle homoerotic subtext. If those people read that into it I certainly wouldn't argue with it, I think that's a very subtle observation. There's certainly a lot of deep male bonding that goes on between them, and yes, Octavius has a certain fascination with Jedediah because, of course, he wouldn't meet people as irreverent as that in the world of the Roman Empire, I think people were a bit more formal in their behaviour, so that slightly gauche, throwaway attitude that goes with being a cowboy fascinates Octavius, and he finds it quite alluring."

And I've seen worse crack pairings that don't make any sense, but this one does.

Well of coarse you can have AkuRoku. They are a couple....but I still don't know what to say to Alleh's crack...

There are tons of people who ship Jed/Oct! Have you seen the second movie yet? There's plenty of situations that hint at slash! x3
